Extremely hot summer was in full swing in Dubai,  just enough humidity to melt my make-up. If I’m heading to my workplace (which is two blocks away from the flat we rented) I can likely fry some eggs with the amount of heat I need to bear when I walk, not to mention everywhere here is completely cemented from pavement, to driveway, to highway. I can’t even take a good shower, because hot water now comes out of both taps, we have hot water and  a hotter water. It is merciless.

Dubai: In a city of accents, where many struggle to understand each other, it may be best to find a Filipino to intermediate.

Two new surveys done by BBC and IBM show that the Filipinos have the most “accent-neutral language” in the world. And it shows in the number of call-centres cropping up all over the Philippines.

s Nevaro says, “Filipinos can easily adjust to different accents. We can talk to just about anyone in the world, from the British to the Americans, Australians and Canadians, and we’ll be understood. We may sound a little different from them, but at least they’ll understand what we’re saying. The accents of some of the other nationalities are so strong and harsh that the rest of the world may find it hard to comprehend what they’re saying.”

Not at work today!
it’s so uncommon for me to have two workdays off in a week, unfortunately i work six days a week, and it’s just the way it works here and depends  on what industry you’re in.
The good thing is Ramadan is approaching this August, regardless of what you call god or religion, we are gonna work for only six hours!! Yay! I’ve got 18 more hours to waste!
So I’m starting my day with bread and butter.

SAND DREDGED FROM THE SEA
As if building islands in the shape of the Palm and The World weren’t enough, now its the milky way, the solar system..
— The Universe..which will have 3,000 hectares of land and will take 15 to 20 years to build.
Dubai really pushes the boundaries.
